Keeping Your Baby Cool In Summer - Merino Wool

Over the past few weeks we have seen temperatures rise, and the air to be really muggy. For some, it has been a welcome break from the usually dull and dreary English weather, but for others it has been a nightmare of never ending stickiness.

With experts advising to keep cool and hydrated to avoid overheating, Huggababy wants to remind everyone of the importance of taking extra care of not only yourself, but also your family, and friends during the hot weather. The heat is especially dangerous for the very young and elderly or those with serious illnesses. More specifically it can cause heart and respiratory problems to get worse, and in extreme cases can lead to heat stroke. For many it is a time of celebrations, suntans and barbeques but we have been made aware of the serious dangers of over indulging.

Of course any mother will know even in the rain and snow making sure your baby is the right temperature is always on your mind…That’s why we’d like to introduce you to the amazing merino wool and its fantastic properties, because it is in times like this that every mother deserves piece of mind to relax and enjoy the sun!

So why will Merino wool be good for you and your baby in this hot weather? Merino wool comes from the wool of the merino sheep. It is soft and fine and often used for aerobic clothing. This is because it is breathable and cooling, draws moisture (e.g. perspiration) away from the skin and regulates temperature. Because it draws moisture away from the body it is also hypoallergenic and does not hold on to odours, perfect for any new baby, because lets be honest, they do make a lot of interesting smells! Its unique and clever properties means it is the perfect fabric for little ones (who of course) can’t tell you whether they are too hot or too cold! That’s why Huggababy made this gorgeous range of baby products incorporating merino wool and its wonderful properties for babies’ comfort.

So while it’s looking a little muggy outside why not, grab a cup of tea and browse the new extensive huggababy merino wool range. You can also read more about the benefits of merino wool…such as getting a good night’s sleep…what are you waiting for…xx
