'We're All Going On A Summer Holiday'

With the weather now taking a turn and summer passing us by quickly, many of us are looking to a summer holiday. Whether abroad or at home, we all know it’s never easy to travel with little ones…they might be small but they have a lot of things! That’s why we have come up with a ‘condensed’ list of essentials for you and your baby to take away with you, after all holidays are meant to be relaxing and an escape from the normal...not the movement of your nursery to a different location for a week or two!

So here it is:

1. Top of the list we all know the most important thing your baby will need for a week or two away from home…Nappies (and of course, with these wipes, creams etc.)…Now this is the beauty of the re-useable you can simply take 10/20 and they will last the whole duration of your holiday – provided you wash a batch half way through your holiday. Whereas if you take disposables you will have to take 4 or 5 times as many with you…taking up precious boot space!

2. Wash powder, to wash babygrows, vests and nappies etc - in case of any messy moments!

3. Then of course there are the essential pyjamas, sleep bags, all in ones and babygrows.

4. Your baby’s favourite comforter – other than yourself of course! – A ‘blankie’ or dummy. Our lambskins are also good comforters to get your baby off to sleep in a different place and also lightweight enough if you are travelling abroad.

5. An assortment of clothes (if holidaying in Britain you will probably be best to take layers) to peel off or pile on depending on our unpredictable weather! – Our merino wool pieces are also great for regulating baby’s temperature whatever the weather!

6. Lots of high factor sun cream or sun block for both you and the little one. (And of course make sure you are both getting lots of water!)

7. A light weight carrier so that you do not have to carry a pushchair around everywhere you go…our sling is perfect for carrying your baby close and keeping your hands free for an ice-cream at the beach!

8. You will probably need to take a small selection of toys, I would suggest their favourite and something new to keep them entertained for a longer period of time. Also a few books and colouring crayons for the journey. Once your there don’t forget a bucket and spade!

9. Food and milk, depending on the age of your little one. If you are travelling abroad it is always safe to take some home comforts, such as lightweight pastas and pasta sauces, biscuits etc in case your baby is a fussy eater or if you arrive late and can’t get to a shop until the next day.

10. Finally don’t forget to take your swimming costume, sunglasses and beach towel…RELAX and ENJOY! xx
