About us

Huggababy was established in 1993 by a young Mum who designed the hammock-like baby sling to provide the closeness every baby thrives on.  It fast became an International Award Winning sling and is distributed worldwide. 

When my son Max was born on Valentine's Day in 1997 I was lucky enough to receive a Huggababy Sling and like  Martine at the BabyCenttre  could not have done without it.  As with most of Max's favourite baby equipment it was put away until 11 years later when once again luck was on my side and I was offered the opportunity  to acquire huggababy the business and the patent to manufactrue the baby sling here in the UK.  I, of course, jumped at the chance and became a proud new Mom for the second time around, to Huggababy (not quite the same deep unconditional love I felt for Max but a deep passion and quite emotional nonetheless).

During the last 2 years we have spent our time sourcing fabulous new fabrics for our new heavenly huggababy range of products including Merino Wool Sleeping bags and blankets, Bamboo cotton jim jams, bodysuits and vests and luscious fluffy reusable bamboo nappies.  At the same time we have built this fantastic new website which we hope you will find informative and easy to use (please let us know what you think mail us sales@huggababy.co.uk)

Like giving birth and raising children nothing other than the real thing could prepare you for the reality of running your own business and over the last 2 years we have encountered a roller-coaster of emotions and events.  There have been alot of sleepless nights, raised voices, tears shed, laughter, fear, celebrations and undoubteldly many more challenges to overcome.  But, just like having babies and raising our children I wouldn't change it for the world and look forward to an exciting future with huggababy.

Our mission is to make new parents aware of the benefits of carrying their baby close enough to kiss in a huggababy sling and wrapping them up in the finest merino wool and bamboo cotton.  Every baby thrives on love and what better to love your baby.

History

• Huggababy was founded in 1993 due to Sarah's refusal to be put down!
• Initially launched with just 1 product
• 1997 Max was born and was lucky enough to be given a Huggababy Baby Carrier which I could not have done without!
• In 1999 Bethany was born and brought with her new trials and tribulations for her Mom - don't they all?
• The website was launched in 2000 and Huggababy moved to Wales
• 2001 saw the launch of Bethany inspired products.
• In 2008 Huggababy relocated to Staffordshire and I drove Max mad with new hugababy logo and website ideas.
• In 2009 Huggababy partnered with a UK manufacturer based in Staffordshire who's current clients include Fred Perry, Barbour, Boden, Cro'Jack, Hackett, Mulberry and John Partridge, to name a few.
• 2010 Launch of the new Huggababy collection
• 2010 Launch of the new Huggababy website.
• 2010 Max got his laptop back!  .........
